John J. Flynn, of Braintree, formerly of Cambridge, entered into rest March 4, 2014, at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Eleanor (Watson) Flynn, to whom he was married to for 52 years, he was the loving father of Sheila Flynn of Braintree, Ann Buckley and her husband Tom of Braintree; precious Papa of Lindsay, Jill, Michael, and Mark; loving brother of Rita (Flynn) Wojciechowski and her husband Joe of Somerville; loving brother of the late Eleanor (Flynn) Hodgkins, Edward, Dan, and Francis Flynn; loving uncle of many wonderful nieces and nephews. John was born to the late Edward and Ellen (Murphy) Flynn, Aug. 10, 1935, in Cambridge. John graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School in 1952 and received an associate's degree from Newbury Junior College in 1976. John served in the United States Army, Korean conflict from 1954-1956. John worked for the Boston Edison as a splicer and moved into management over a 39 year career until he retired in 1996. Reposing was at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree, until 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, S. Braintree Square, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours were Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery. Donations in John's name may be made to
