William M. Dobey Obituary
William Martin Dobey, 79, of Woodville FL and Orleans MA unexpectedly passed away on Dec 6, 2012. He was the beloved father of Kristine Coxwell and grandfather of Stephanie R and Trevor W Coxwell, of Tallahassee, FL, and his beloved former son-in-law, Glen F. Coxwell. Bill will be forever remembered by his friends and family. Bill was a very warm, compassionate person who always went out of way to help others. He had a passion for cooking and was deeply spiritual, saying he was a visitor here while up there was home. He loved and appreciated Cape Cod's beauty as a fisherman and an accomplished artist of Cape Cod scenes. Bill was born January 27, 1933, in Peabody MA, the son of Stella Colby. He spent his childhood on Boston's North Shore, starting work at a very young age with his own business of shoveling people's driveways during cold winter months. He later went on to run his own successful house painting business on the Cape, having fallen in love with it while stationed at Marconi in the service. He strongly believed anyone could realize their dream if they put their mind to it, often suggesting ways to do this, even to strangers; always going the extra mile. He also believed strongly in family, relocating in his later years to be closer to his. Besides his daughter and grandchildren, Bill leaves a daughter, Linda Cullum of Waitsfield , Vt, his sister Sandra Delpero and nephew Christopher of Beverly Ma, his lifetime friend, Patricia Dobey of Tallahassee, FL and his best friend and beloved companion a golden retriever Lily. Predeceased by his son William D. Cullum.Service will be mid June.
