Leon R. Hoke

Leon R. Hoke, formerly of Bridgewater, and Battleground, Washington, died peacefully on Nov. 28 at the age 66. Leon grew up in Boston and Bridgewater and was the loving son of the late Robert and Eunice Hoke. He was a graduate of B-R High School, class of 1963, Kentucky State University where he received a degree in nutrition and the University of Illinois, where he earned a masters in social work. Leon loved to travel and by nature of his 30 years as a proud flight attendant he literally saw most of the world. He was a very gifted person who spoke several languages and was a horticulturalist. Leon lived many years in Asia and was a trainer for flight attendants. Leon was the loving brother of Arthur L. Hoke of Bridgewater and the late Robert L. Hoke Jr. Proud uncle of Gena Pina Garcia and her husband Daniel of PA and Roxanne Hoke-Chandler of Boston. Also survived by several great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from around the world. Friends and family are invited to a funeral home service on Saturday, Dec. 8, starting at 2 p.m. at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater.
