James Lynch Obituary

Mr. James Francis Lynch, 77, of Bridgewater, died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Christine E. (Moore) Lynch. Born in Boston, the son of the late Aloysius and Hattie (Kirby) Lynch, and brother to Harriet, Rita, Joseph, Patricia, Carol, and John. He was educated at St. Gregorys School (Boston), Iona Prep, Iona College (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and Fairfield University. He had been a Bridgewater resident for the past 38 years. Prior to retirement, he was a sales professional with International Paper Company and National Cash Register (NCR). In later years he was a driver for A&A Metro Transportation in Bridgewater. Jim was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran and a member of the Bridgewater Knights of Columbus. He is survived by 4 children: James W., Michael T.; and Timothy D. Lynch and Kristen (Lynch) Nichols of Bridgewater; brothers: Joseph and John Lynch; sisters Rita (Lynch) OLaughlin and Carol (Lynch) Byrne; numerous nieces and nephews; and 12 grandchildren. Visiting hours were held at Prophett Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater, on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bridgewater at 10 a.m. Interment in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
