Hilda Edith York, age 78, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, in Brockton, after a brief illness. Born Thursday, Dec. 13, 1934, in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Raymond L. and Josephine (Pender) York. Hilda graduated from Beverly High School, and was a resident of West Bridgewater. She was a porcelain artist and ceramics teacher at her own studio, and enjoyed Swedish weaving, puzzles, and crafts of all types. She was a member of the West Bridgewater Senior Center, and also of the Cochesett United Methodist Church in West Bridgewater. She is survived by her daughter, Holly-Jo Cloutier of Pennsylvania; a granddaughter, Sarah Cloutier-Lada of Pennsylvania; two grandsons, Jan Jason Cloutier and Shawn Cloutier; two sisters, Thelma Pope and Florence Desrocher of Florida; a brother, Leonard York of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend, Doreen Healy of Lowell. She was predeceased by her brothers, Clifton L. York and Douglas York. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. at New England Baptist Church, 560 North Main St., West Bridgewater.
