Obituary Condolences

Jose E. Santo of Bridgewater passed away surrounded by his family at home on June 6, 2013 at the age of 81. Jose was raised in Tercerria, Azores and came to Bridgewater in 1969 to live the American dream. Mr. Santo worked for Cumberland Farms for over 30 years. First, at the main dairy farm in Bridgewater, where he milked cows every day and then did maintenance for the company later in life before retiring in 2008. Jose loved traveling back to his homeland, fishing, yard sailing, watching Benefica and celebrating The Holy Ghost fiesta's during the summer. His greatest hobby was making his own goat cheese from his pet goats. Beloved husband of Iria (Toste) Santo. Devoted father of Jose G. Lima of Taunton, Antonio F. Lima of Taunton, Dianne M. Lowe of East Taunton and Jeffrey T. Santo of Bridgewater. Grandfather of Priscilla, Felicia, Gabriella, Isabella, Adelena and the late Chelsea. Funeral was from the Prophett Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater, Tuesday, June 11, at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, at 9 a.m. Visiting hours were Monday, June 10, from 5 - 8 p.m. Burial in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
