Obituary Condolences

Roger A. Armstead Sr., of East Bridgewater, passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family on Thursday, April 25, 2013. Born in Boston, he was a WWII Navy veteran, a former employee of U.S. Navy Yards at Boston, NY and Philadelphia and a retired Manager of Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA. The beloved husband of Deborah A. (Maher) of East Bridgewater and the late Marilyn I. (Anderson), he was the devoted father of Roger A. Jr. of Las Vegas, John E. of MD, Michael J. of Brockton, Carleton D. of MD and the late Jeffrey W. Armstead. He was the brother of Ronald E. of CT, Richard of ME, Raymond of Middleton, Barbara Hill of Mattapan, Joan Kimber of Lynn and the late Katherine Kimber, Sylvia Robinson and Robert Armstead. Mr. Armstead is survived by 7 cherished grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clare Church, 1244 Liberty St., Braintree, Wednesday, morning at 10. Visiting hours were held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Tuesday, April 30, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in National Cemetery, Bourne, Wednesday at 2:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. www.alfreddhtomas.com.
