John R. Donahue, Jr. Whitey of Shirley, N.Y., formerly of East Bridgewater, died unexpectedly on May 17, 2014 at the age of 47. John was raised in East Bridgewater and spent many years working as a carpenter. He was a former member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 624. John graduated from East Bridgewater High School in 1985. He was known for his ability to connect with people on a personal level and was considered a good friend to many. He had a passion for music and sports. The world was his audience and he was the entertainer. Son of Joan (Wood) Donahue of East Bridgewater and the late John R. Donahue. He is survived by his two children, Paige Taylor Donahue and Elizabeth Mary Donahue and their mother Mary Furia Donahue. He is also survived by his five sisters and spouses; Maryanne and Dennis Lewis, Eileen and Thomas Bennett, Patricia and Ken Piesco, Maureen and John Chaves and Heather and John Shea, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral Mass was in St. Johns Church, 210 Central St., East Bridgewater at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 29. Visiting hours was on Wednesday, May 28, from 5 - 8 p.m. in the East Bridgewater Prophett-Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater.
