Richard P. Adams Obituary
Richard P. Adams, 71, of West Bridgewater died peacefully June 7. Dick, as he was known by family and friends, grew up in South Boston and was the son of the late Francis and Alberta (LaBonte) Adams. He was a graduate of South Boston High School, and married Ella Belliveau of Nova Scotia. They were married for over 46 years and raised their children in Brockton. Dick served in the U.S. Army. Dick worked for EG&G Inc., Johnson & Johnson and retired from Ultra Electronics Oceans Systems. He was a member of the American Legion Post 91, past West Bridgewater Library trustee, past member of the Finance and Pastoral committee of St. Anns, past member of REACH, past member of the Purchasing Management Assoc. of Boston, and was proud of his published articles in New England Purchasing Magazine. He also enjoyed community involvement, fishing, visiting his family in Nova Scotia and spending time with his precious grandson Tyler. He is survived by his wife, Ella L. Adams of West Bridgewater; sons, Frank of West Bridgewater and Mark, his wife April, and grandson Tyler, of Utah. He is also survived by his sister, Ellie Cotter of Md., Joan Bull of Fla.; brother, William of Mass.; and was the brother of the late Claire Collins, Theresa Kennedy, Francis Adams, and Jack Adams. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Anns Church, 103 N. Main St., West Bridgewater, Friday, June 13, at 11 a.m., followed by a burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne . Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater.
