James A. Furtado Obituary
James A. Furtado, 23 , of Bridgewater died peacefully after a lengthy illness. James was the loving son of Jose and Teresa (Baganha) Furtado of Bridgewater. Despite living his entire life with Angelman Syndrome, James always had a smile on his face. He attended North River Collaborative School in Rockland and Bridgewater where he always enjoyed his teachers and friends. Following the end of school, he attend South Shore Collaborative in Hingham. He loved going outside, being the center of attention, and using his squeaky toys. He was fond of bright colors and relaxing to music. Some of his favorite songs were "Wheels on the Bus" and anything by Stomp Out Loud. James was the loving brother of Catharine S. Furtado of Northampton and Linda F. Furtado of Bridgewater. He was the loving grandson of Maria Baganha of Bridgewater and is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater on Thursday, April 4 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Catholic Burial at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. Donations in James memory may be sent to Angelman Syndrome Foundation, 4255 Westbrook Drive, Ste. 219 Aurora, IL 60504.
