Eleanor E. Flynn (Jones), of Bridgewater, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the age of 88 in the loving embrace of her family. Eleanor was born and raised in Brockton. She was the fifth child of Teresa and Wallace Jones. Eleanor graduated from Brockton High School and the Vesper George College of Art. She was married to Arthur T. Flynn on Sept. 22, 1946. Together, they raised five children in Brockton, Manchester, NH and later in Bridgewater. She and Arthur enjoyed 47 years of marriage, including their retirement in Cape Cod, before he passed in 1994. Eleanor was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an accomplished artist who relished sharing her gift with others. Eleanor led an active life, spending her time playing golf, walking, gardening, sewing, knitting, cooking, and enjoying time with her family and friends. Eleanor is survived by her three cherished daughters Susan K. Carignan and husband Kenneth of NH; Maryanne Flynn and Kayla Evans of CO; Patricia Dunn and husband Paul of Assonet; and her son Christopher Flynn and wife Deborah of VA; her 8 grandchildren: Matthew, Michael, Kristin, Rachael, Colin, Connor, Meghan, Lauren and Moira; and 5 great-children: Emma, Jack, Ryan, Adyson and Lucas. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, her son Stephen, and her siblings, Wallace, Francis, Edward, and Margaret. Funeral was from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater at 11 a.m. Visitation was held on Monday June 10, 2013 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
