Allen R. Seletsky Obituary
Allen Richard Seletsky of Boston passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at age 57. Proprietor of "the five Seventy market" in the South End, Allen was a graduate of Babson College and an entrepreneur of great vision and passion. His business ventures included Bostonian Market, Light & Lovely, and Super Ads Marketing, among others. "The five Seventy market" was a cornerstone in the revitalization of Bostons South End, and a touchstone for the growing arts and theatre community. Allens "the five Seventy market" was a pioneering force in bringing accessible, affordable, healthy, fresh and organic food to the community. Prior to his move to the South End of Boston, Allen resided with his family in Chatham, NJ. At that time, Allen served as a volunteer firefighter for the New Vernon Fire Department and as president of the communitys Sunset Lake Association. Allen was the devoted father of Andrew E. Seletsky, and a loving father figure for Annie Behre. Beloved son of Barbara Seletsky Kardon and her husband Irving Kardon, and the late Harvey Ellis Seletsky; dearest brother of Sandy Clark and Lynda Seletsky, and brother-in-law Paul Clark; fond uncle of Tanen and Logan Clark. Beloved partner of Emily OConnell, Allen is also survived by Laurie Behre, mother of Andrew and Annie; he also leaves Jeffrey Wade for whom he was a life-long Big-Brother. Services at the Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline were on Sunday, March 20 at 10am. Interment was at Sharon Memorial Park following the service. Memorial observance were at the home of Sandy and Paul Clark following the burial from 2:00 pm - 6pm.
