Betty Dulman, 82, of Brookline died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, following a brief illness. She was born in Lowell, Sept. 25, 1927, the daughter of the late Walter and Fannie Cowan. She was raised in Boston, graduating from Brighton High School. She graduated from Forsyth Dental School and was employed as a registered dental hygienist in Boston and Brookline until her retirement. She was married to Herbert Dulman for 57 years making their home in Brighton and Brookline. They traveled extensively around the world, she was a congregant of Temple Sinai in Brookline, and enjoyed reading, walking and swimming, family gatherings, and social, educational and political events. She is survived by her three children, Bonnie Keller of Brookline, Jayne Gordon and husband, Joel, of Beverly and Scott Dulman and wife, Patty, of Arlington, Va. Also her grandchildren, Rowan Sidd and fiance, Chris Downs, Phillip, Matthew and Nathan Gordon, Raymond and Miles P. Dulman. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Barbara Cowan, Sylvia Wolfe and Millie Zeprun and husband, Louis, and many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by brothers Bernard and spouse, Sarah, Howard, Murray and Byron and spouse, Suzanne Cowan. Services were held at the Levine Chapels, Brookline, on February 17. Burial was in Sharon Memorial Park. In her honor donations can be made to the Herbert and Betty Dulman Culinary Scholarship c/o Newbury College, 129 Fischer Ave., Box 415, Brookline, MA 02445.
