Obituary Condolences

Eileen Sadolf, of Longmeadow and Brookline, passed away in Brookline Friday, Feb. 5, 2010. Eileen was born in Brookline, where she attended the Brookline Public Schools, and fostered many lifelong friendships, and went on to graduate from Boston University where she pursued her chosen career as a teacher. She was a kindergarten teacher in the West Springfield Public schools for 25 years until her retirement. Eileen was a dedicated and caring teacher who took great pride in the accomplishments of her students, many of whom maintained contact with her well into their adult lives, which demonstrated the level of respect and admiration they had for her. In addition to her love of education and children, Eileen was also a lover of animals and music. She was an accomplished self-taught pianist, and together with her husband Saul Michelson, was a supporter of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, and the SPCA. She also loved to travel, especially Ogunquit Maine and frequently traveled to destinations far and near with her close friend Trinda. Eileen was predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Dorothy Sadolf. In addition to her beloved husband Saul Michaelson, Eileen is also survived by her step-sons Lawrence and Steven Michaelson, six step grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her many close friends whose lives were all enriched by Eileen's caring friendship. A graveside service was held at Sharon Memorial Park, 41 Dedham St., Sharon, Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at 10:45 a.m. Memorial observance was held at Eileen's home on Monday, Feb. 8, and Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. Memorial donations in Eileen's memory may be made to Buddy Dog Humane Society, 151 Boston Post Road, Sudbury MA, Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA, Shriner's Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA, the , 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA, or The Buddy Fund, Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society, P.O. 6307 Springfield, MA 01101.
