Obituary Condolences

Eleanor Clark (born Margaret Eleanor Ann Miller), 1919-2010 formerly of White Plains, N.Y., and Brookline, Mass., passed away peacefully in the presence of family on July 11, 2010 in Boston at the age of 90. The youngest of six children, Eleanor was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on October 1, 1919. She graduated from Westmount High School (Montreal) and served in the Womens Royal Navy (Wrens) for Canada during World War II. After the War, she became an executive secretary and cared for her mother, Olive Miller. She moved to White Plains with her new husband, Alan Gardner Clark, in 1957, and became a fixture in her adopted community, serving actively at Saint Bartholomews Church, various branches of the White Plains PTA, and the Womans Club of White Plains, as well as other organizations. Eleanor loved volunteer work, her many friends, reading, and cats. Her enthusiasm for life touched all who knew her. She moved to the Boston area in 2006 to be nearer her son, Bruce, and his family. She became a member of the community at Saint Pauls Church in Brookline. She is survived by Bruce, his wife, Judith, and her grandson, Malcolm, all of Brookline. A memorial service was held Tuesday, July 20, at Saint Bartholomews Church in White Plains. Donations in Eleanors memory may be made to Saint Bartholomews Church, 82 Prospect Street, White Plains, New York, 10606.
