Harold Fienman BROOKLINE Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 for Harold Fienman, who died at his late Brookline residence on Monday, December 21, 2009. He was 86 years old. Harold enlisted in the U.S. Marines in the spring of 1941 and served more than four years in the Pacific, being among the Marines who landed on Okinawa. He was a corporal, 6th Division Marine Corps. After the war, he attended UMass, where he had a notable football career and served as president of the Interfraternity Council. In 1961 he founded Harman Associates and traveled throughout New England representing major electronics manufacturers. His friendly attitude and sense of humor made Harold popular among his business colleagues, and for several years he acted as master of ceremonies at national sales meetings for Hughes Aircraft Corporation. In his later years, Harold enjoyed travel, golf and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Fienman was the beloved husband of Elaine (Berk) for 58 years. He was the loving father of Barbara Fienman of Brookline, and Donald and Ann Fienman of Arlington. He is survived by his two cherished granddaughters, Rose and Joyce Fienman. Mr. Fienman was the devoted brother of Mollie and Arthur Ceder of Brookline and the late David and his surviving wife Eleanor Fienman of Florida, Sally Weinstein and Harry Fienman. He was the dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Rabbi David Shapiro from the Maimonides School officiated. Burial was in the Moses Mendelsohn Cemetery, West Roxbury. Memorial observance through Thursday at his late residence. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 72 East Concord Street, Room C3, Boston, MA 02118 or a charity of ones choice.
