Obituary Condolences

Jack Goldstein died at his home in Brookline on Thursday, March 17, 2011. He was 88 years old. Born and raised in East Cambridge, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sophie Goldstein. A graduate of Boston University, Class of 1943, Jack served proudly in World War II. For over 30 years he worked for Everett Avenue Auto Parts in Somerville and also held numerous positions for Automotive Wholesalers of New England (AWANE) and was a former director of the Monadnock Community Bank in New Hampshire. Mr. Goldstein also served as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. He was a longtime member of Putterham Meadows Golf Club in Brookline. Jack was the husband of the late Rita (Slotnick) with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. He was the father of Bonny & Barry Lichter, Amy Goldstein of Maine and James Goldstein of Brookline and was the grandfather of Jessy Lichter Maret and her husband Brandon and William Lichter. He was the brother of Marion Kellner and her husband Harvey and the late Harvey and Harold Goldstein. Funeral services were held at Levine Chapels, Brookline on March 20.
