John W. Gallimore Obituary
John W. Gallimore of Brookline, age 93, died peacefully at home on May 6, 2018. He is predeceased by Inge his wife of 55 years. He is also predeceased by his brothers Alvin, George and Tyro and his sisters Alice, Isabelle, and Patricia. He obtained his B.S. in Engineering at North Eastern University with the G.I. Bill and an MBA from Boston University. He worked as an engineer at New England Telephone and Telegraph Company, then AT&T, for many years. His faith was important to him, and he was a life long member of the Church of the Advent where he volunteered in many ways. He also volunteered through the Telephone Pioneers of America. He will be remembered as an avid photographer and enjoyed being asked to volunteer his skills in this area. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather,and loving brother to his large family. He found peace in the outdoors and enjoyed sailing his sunfish in the summer and in his later years walking wherever he could. He is survived by his loving daughters Judith and Joanna, his granddaughter Julia as well as his sisters Anna Williams of East Bridgewater, Carol Fongellaz of Tennessee and brother James Gallimore of Weymouth. Services will be held at the Church of the Advent, 30 Brimmer Street, Boston this Saturday, May 19 at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alz- heimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Waltham MA 02472.
