Melvin H. Roboff, 83, passed away on April 11, surrounded by family and friends. A long-time resident of Needham, Mel was born in Rochester, NY, and graduated from Wesleyan University and Harvard Business School. He directed the marketing and research at Wm. Underwood Co., Fannie Farmer Candies, and Converse Shoes. His company, Roboff Management Group, worked with several other Boston-based consumer companies as well. He will be remembered well for being a life-long learner with a wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his two daughters, Katherine J. Roboff of Washington, D.C. and Julia C. Roboff of Brookline, MA, and his former wife Amy Rands. Also survived by his sister Rona G. Finkelstein of Wilmington, DE and brother Stanley Glassman of Rochester, NY, along with nieces, nephews, and many fast friends. Mel was predeceased by his parents, Bessie Roboff Glassman and Gershon Roboff, and his brother Stanley Roboff of New York City. Services are private.
