Obituary Condolences

Dreyfus, Nicholas W 61, died on March 28, 2010 after a long illness. Nick leaves his sons Joshua and Blair Dreyfus formerly of New Orleans and Brookline, MA now residing in Beverly, MA his former wife Margaret (Gregory) Dreyfus, previously of New Orleans, now of Kittery, ME, his father Carl Dreyfus and stepmother Virginia LaPlante of Brookline, MA his brothers Peter and his wife Lynn Dreyfus, Andrew and his wife Lynn Modell, and Tony and his wife Michele Lepietre, his sister, Eve LaPlante and her husband Dr. David Dorfman, his stepmother Rosalind Dreyfus of Brookline, MA his stepfather Morton Lippmann of Point Reyes, CA and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was the son of the late Denise Sessums of New Orleans, and the brother of the late Sylvia Dreyfus of Berkeley, CA. Nick was born in Boston, MA and raised and attended school in New Orleans, and his life reflected the cultural contrasts and sensibilities of those two different regions. His culinary interests followed the jambalaya and crawfish of New Orleans, but he was a Red Sox fan and loved the rocky coast north of Boston. He worked as a radio and TV announcer in both cities, and lived for the past 25 years in Brookline and Jamaica Plain. Despite enduring several chronic illnesses for decades, Nick maintained a spirit of optimism seasoned with an ironic sense of humor. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Nick may be made to New Orleans area Habitat for Humanity PO Box 15052 New Orleans, LA 15052 or at www.habitat.nola.org.
