Bertha A. Kireilis Obituary
Bertha A. (Vitkauskas) Kireilis, 96, of Stoughton, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully April 24, 2014. Born and raised in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late Domenik and Annie (Yakobawicz) Vitkauskas and graduated from Brockton High School in 1935 and also from Chandler Secretarial School. Bertha was employed by the Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training for many years until retirement. She enjoyed family, travel, the beach and great food. Bertha was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Kireilis from 1945 until his passing in 1996; loving mother of Bette Kireilis of Stoughton with whom she lived and Nancy L. Cook and her husband William of Fairport, N.Y.; and the dear grandmother of Pamela J. Cook and Kenneth W. Cook. Calling hours were held Monday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a 12 p.m. service in Belcher Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home followed by burial at Melrose Cemetery.
