Jean Louise (Lamont) Keefe, 82, of Randolph, passed away after a short illness on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014. She was born at home to the late Alexander Lamont and Helen (Segee) Lamont, on Aug. 19, 1931 in Dorchester. Jean graduated from Dorchester High School for Girls in 1948 and worked for the First National Bank in Boston. She cared for her parents at their times of illness. Jean married George Keefe in 1950, and they lived together in Randolph for 60 years. Jean was a homemaker and was passionate about raising her children and then when they were all grown up, she entered the next phase of her career as the best grandmother even and helped raise her grandchildren. She fought many illnesses: lung and breast cancer, and had two open-heart surgeries. In the past, Jean was an active member of both St. Marys in Randolph and St. Michaels in Avon. She had her own ceramic craft business, Jeans Dreams. She loved to travel to Ste Anne Du Beaupre in Quebec and her Camelot, Amish County in Pennsylvania. Jean is survived by her husband George, of Randolph, and her children, daughter Alexis Deal, and the late husband John Deal of Foxboro; son Blake and daughter-in-law Cindy of Avon. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral was from the Hurley Funeral Home, 134 So. Main St. (Rte. 28), Randolph, Saturday, Feb. 15, at 8:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Michaels Church, Avon at 9 a.m. Visiting hours were Friday, Feb. 14, from 4 - 8 p.m. Interment St. Michaels Cemetery, Avon.
