Elaine M. Riley, a former pre-school teacher, died at her home in Canton, suddenly, Friday April 12, 2013. She was 65 years old. Born in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph P. and Sarah (Hagan) Riley. Elaine was raised in Quincy where she had lived for many years before moving to Norwood and then Canton. She was an active volunteer at Neponset River House in Norwood and The Salvation Army. Elaine was a great communicator, reaching out to people of all ages so that they knew someone cared about them. She was a great admirer of the Kennedy family and the Lennon Sisters. Elaine is survived by her close friend Victoria Shapiro, niece Ariel Joy Shapiro and many cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Saint Agatha Church, Adams Street at Brook Road, Milton, Wednesday April 17 at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends were invited. Visitation was held at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, East Milton, Wednesday 9:00-10:00 AM. Relatives and friends were invited. Interment was at Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
