Hirschberg, Maryann - Orleans  
Maryann Hirschberg of East Orleans MA. passed away on Friday, August 14, 2015 surrounded by her family. She is survived by Joseph, her loving husband of 67 years. Born in Columbus Ohio in 1921, she graduated high school at our Lady of Victory Academy in Marble Cliff, Ohio. She attended both Ohio State University and Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. She was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as an executive secretary between 1942 and 1948. In 1948 she married her husband in Columbus, Ohio. She resided in Harrington Park, New Jersey for 23 years and was a co-founder of the Pascack Valley Hospital Aide Association and was active in both Boys and Girls Scouting. She moved to East Orleans, MA. in 1977, and was a member of the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary and the Orleans Historical Society. She was a parishioner of Saint Joan of Arc Church. She and her husband also maintained residences in Vero Beach, Florida and Sun City West, Arizona. Maryann was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her husband Joseph, she is survived by one son, Eric Hirschberg of Denver, Colorado; daughter Julie Nuzzo and husband Anthony of Wellesley MA.; and daughter Jill Paolino and husband Gregory of North Kingstown, Rhode Island. She was predeceased in 2013 by another son, Bruce Hirschberg, of East Orleans. She leaves 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and is also survived by two brothers, Thomas Mullin and John Mullin, of Columbus, Ohio, and sister Colleen Buscemi of Springfield, Ohio. She was predeceased by two other sisters, Kathleen Boles of Brookfield, Wisconsin and Sarah Wagner of Springfield, Ohio. Visiting hours will be held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 18, at Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans, MA. followed by Catholic Mass at 11:00 am at Saint Joan of Arc Church in Orleans, MA.
