Robert A. Bolduc

Robert A. Bolduc, 85 of South Yarmouth died unexpectedly at his home on October 7, 2013. He was the husband of the late Ann (Dempsey) Bolduc, who died Sept. 29, 2010. They had been married for 59 years. Born, raised and educated in Carver, Mr. Bolduc was the son of the late Aime A. and Louise Y. (Valcourt) Bolduc. He was a graduate of Plymouth Carver High School. Mr. Bolduc enlisted in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served aboard the U.S.S. Juneau and the U.S.S. Mindoro. He was honorably discharged in 1947. Mr. and Mrs. Bolduc moved to South Yarmouth in 1957 and lived upstairs at the Yarmouth Fire Station until 1961, when they settled into their permanent residence. Mr. Bolduc served as a Trooper for the Massachusetts State Police for 27 years and retired as a lieutenant. He was also the captain of the charter boat Annie B (named for his wife) at Barnstable and Sesuit Harbors, for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, sports, and spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Bolduc is survived by two sons, Richard R. of Sandwich and Michael A. and his wife, Sigrid of South Yarmouth; a brother, Roland of Plymouth; a sister, Pamela Carmichael of Middleboro; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, and parents, Mr. Bolduc was predeceased by a brother, Norman. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday October 11 in Saint Pius Tenth Church, Station Ave., South Yarmouth. Interment will follow in Chandler Gray Cemetery, Old Mill Way, West Yarmouth. Visiting hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday October 10 in the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Saint Pius Tenth School, 321 Wood Rd., South Yarmouth, MA 02664.
