Ruth Parent of Carver, MA passed away March 1, 2018. Ruth Parent was born on February 24, 1929 to Fanny and Tom Lane. She grew up in Wareham and graduated from Wareham High in 1947. In the 1950s she worked as a telephone operator. She was always passionate about helping people and so she went on to work as a nurse at Nellie Bryants Nursing Home in West Carver and then at St. Lukes Hospital in Middle- boro until 1983. Ruth loved her family and friends and took great pride in cooking meals for them. Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Norman Parent who passed away in 2014. Also, by her son Gerald Parent and Grandson Oliver Parent. She is survived by her son David Parent, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She fought a valiant fight against Dementia and can now rest in peace with her husband. She lived the last year of her life at Plymouth Rehab where she loved to sing and was taken care of by an excellent staff in the Alden Unit. A graveside ceremony will be held in April on a date to be determined.
