Frederic Wagner Brush, III, 73, a resident of North Eastham, and former resident of Westford for over 40 years, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH. He was the beloved husband of Jean (MacDonald) Brush, with whom he celebrated his 49th wedding anniversary on June 14, 2013. He was born in Medford on March 5, 1940, and was the son of the late Frederic W. Brush, Jr. and Elizabeth (Armstrong) Brush. He received his education in Reading schools and was a graduate of Reading High School. Frederic served his country in the United States Coast Guard. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner of the F. W. Brush, Inc. Dental Laboratory in North Reading, MA for 40 years. He was also a ski instructor for the Nashoba Valley Ski Area. Frederic was a member of the First Parish Church in Westford and a member of the Somerville Masonic Lodge. In his free time he enjoyed skiing, sailing, playing golf, making Jewelry, and woodworking, especially making furniture. His most treasured was time spent in the company of his loving family. In addition to his loving wife, Frederic is survived by his children; Frederic W. Brush IV and his wife Mary of Tyngsboro, Dana L. Brush Steed and her husband James L. Steed, Jr. of Amherst, NH, Jodi E. Lavin and her husband Steven of Jarrettsville, MD, and Matthew M. Brush of Holly Springs, NC; 9 grandchildren; Emilie and Chloe Brush, Victoria, Hudson, Harper, and Emery Steed, and Riley, Keely, and Finley Lavin; a brother-in-law, Frank MacDonald and his wife Joan of Winchester, MA and one niece and four nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Suzanne Brush. It being his wish, there will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service on Monday at 11 o'clock at the First Parish Church, 48 Main St, Westford. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be in Frederic's name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
