Dear Susan, Cindy, and Marty,
On the passing of Diane, my heartfelt sympathy and love to you all. Diane was my babysitter, the leader of the "Adventurer's Club", and the one who first brought me to Vermont when she was looking at UVM as a potential college. She was much loved by my mother, for her knidness, and compassion. She leaves a legacy of sweetness and love, and lives on in our hearts.

Erin and Megan, your eulogy was wonderful and captured that essential quality that Diane had, of listening. In 22 years, we shared many ups and downs at SSH, and we grew to know each other very well. She truly was "Mummy" in our department. In particular, I will always remember the summer of 2009, when Diane worked a lot of nights with me, and helped me to plan my daughter's wedding, with much perceptive and helpful advice. Over the years, we talked about our childhoods, our parents, and so much more. When I got to meet her family in recent years, all the pieces came together and I felt that I finally knew Diane in full. Now, she is a part of me forever and I will always think of her, having shared a long stretch of life's journey together. I will think of how her eyes looked at me as she asked questions about my family and listened to my stories. To think that we meant so much to her, and she to us, is her enduring legacy.

To Susan,Erin,Megan, family and friends,
My deepest sympathy to all of you. I'll always remember how Auntie Diane would light up when the kids were around, especially birthdays and holidays. For the times I was around her, I never heard her complain or have any self-pity. I will always have the greatest respect and honor for her in my heart. I pray that she rest in peace.

In my time at SSH, I had the privilege of getting to know Diane. We had many good evenings together, trading stories and having some laughs. She was my Red Sox good-luck charm: whenever we worked together, they would mysteriously become available. I know how much her family meant to her, and I pray for peace for you all as you grieve this loss. I imagine her, free of pain, running around with the angels. I will miss you, Diane. You're a very special woman.
