Mary R. Beardsley Obituary
Mary R. (McCarte) Beardsley, 87, of Concord, a woman devoted to family and faith, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. She was the loving wife of the late Donald F. Beardsley who died in 1996. She was born in Boston on July 7, 1931 to her late parents, Charles and Katherine (Shields) McCarte. She was a graduate and vice president of Everett High Schools class of 1949. She remained an active alumna and served on the Reunion Committee. Mrs. Beardsley furthered her studies at Boston Dispensary School, and completed the curriculum for the Medical Laboratory Technician program. After marrying her husband and while raising five children, she began employment that spanned nearly twenty years at Emerson Hospital as a Laboratory Technician. A devout Catholic, she enjoyed volunteering for Holy Family Parishs collection and CCD programs, and was a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was often at her happiest during family get-togethers or while being in the comfort of her beloved home. She also cherished her many travels over the years. She was the devoted mother of Donna Oakman and her husband Bill of Maynard, David Beardsley and his wife Jennifer of Camarillo, CA, Thomas Beardsley and his wife Marion of Westford, Patricia Keeffe and her husband Mark of Atkinson, NH, and Robert Beardsley and his wife Laurie of Sterling; the proud grandmother of Jennifer, Jill, Joshua, Noah, Michael, Daniel, Matthew, Morgan, Whitney, Amanda, Ryan, Scott, and the late Andrew, and the loving great grandmother of Dylan, Carleigh, Tyler, Amelia, and Natalie. She was the sister of the late Marjorie Cummings and Charles McCarte. Family and friends may gather for visiting hours on Thursday, September 6th from 4 to 7 pm in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Her funeral will take place on Friday, September 7th at 9 am from the Dee Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am in Holy Family Parish, Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will follow at St. Bernards Cemetery in Concord. In lieu of flowers, Mary would request that you give your family members an extra hug today.
