Very sorry to learn of Norm's death, a very decent person. We used to put on Mass where Norm was priest and I his altar boy. Amazingly, he could recite the whole scene IN LATIN! Fond memories of a life well lived. Bill Fitzpatrick from West Concord

I was sorry to read about Norm's passing. He was a warm and caring person who mentored and advised many Lesley students. I was there from 1972-1976. The last time I spoke to him, I had to apologize that my family now cheered for B.C. at the Beanpot because my son was a "Double Eagle." I got a chuckle from him for that. He was a great teacher and friend. Through his love of teaching, especially science, and his joy for life he created a ripple effect through many novice teachers and their student's lives. My condolences to Joan and his family.

Norman had such a joy for life. He and his wife Joan were a fixture at BU hockey games for over 60 years. I had the privilege to sit with them for over three decades. Joan would read a book while Norman took in every moment of the game. When BU scored, Norman would get all excited. Joan would pause her reading, look up, revel lovingly in her husband's joy, and return to her book. Norman in return gazed back at her with a look that showed his deep love and affection - and an appreciation that Joan indulged him in the things he enjoyed most. RIP our dear friend.
