Shirley Bradford Obituary
Shirley Bradford, who served as a U.S. Army nurse during WWII, died in Dallas, Texas on March 27 2018. She was 95. Mrs. Bradford was born in North Haven, Connecticut on September 4, 1922 to Morris and Della (Fox) Sinow. She was one of five children. Mrs. Bradford graduated from Grace New Haven Hospital Nursing School and volunteered soon after Pearl Harbor. She served as a lieutenant with the Army Nurse Corps in England beginning in early 1944. Her unit transported wounded GIs by rail from Southampton, England to a decentralized hospital in Abergavenny, Wales. She received an honorable discharge in 1946. She worked as a nurse for 55 years. Mrs. Bradford is survived by her sister Evelyn Taylor of Temperanceville, Virginia, two sons, Michael (of San Jose, California), Eric and his wife, Sally, two grandsons, William and Robert (of Concord), and many nieces and nephews.
