Ronald V. Jones, 89, of Concord died Friday February 14, 2014 unexpectedly when his home caught fire. He was the beloved husband of 62 years of the late Margaret (Blomgren) Jones who perished in the same accident. Born in Cambridge on November 6, 1924 he was the son of the late John E. Jones and Elizabeth (Bowser) Jones. He was a 1942 graduate of Rindge Technical High School in Cambridge. During World War II, Mr. Jones was a Corporal in the Army of the United States, 1535th Army Air Force Base Unit, serving in the Pacific theatre of operations. He retired after over thirty-five years as a salesman for the Simplex Wire and Cable Co. in Cambridge. A resident of Concord since 1951, he was an avid walker and also loved baseball and swimming. He was pre-deceased by his son Eric R. Jones who died in December , 2013 and by his sister Doris Kimball. Survivors include his two brothers, Laurie Jones and his wife Rita of Concord and John Jones and his wife Norma of Acton, and many nieces and nephews.
