John J. Svizzero of Duxbury, age 81, died unexpectedly, Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, surrounded by his loving family. John was born, raised, and educated in Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School. He lived in Duxbury for over 40 years. He was employed in the hotel industry for many years. He was the beloved lifetime friend of the late William J. Marino; devoted son of the late Salvatore and Antonia (Cercone) Svizzero; loving brother of Dino Svizzero and his wife Margaret of Florida, the late Lucy Salvatore and the late Henry Svizzero. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved dog, Honey. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Ave., Quincy, Saturday, Aug. 11, at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School St., Quincy, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 5-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.
