John R. Garrigan, 90, of Duxbury passed away April 10, 2013. He was a former employee of Plymouth Home National Bank, and B.F. Goodrich Co. of Watertown. A World War II veteran, and Purple Heart recipient, Mr. Garrigan served in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne division. He participated in the invasion of Normandy-Holland, and the Battle of the Bulge. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant, and received a Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge. He was a lifetime member of the 101st Airborne Division Association, D.A.V., a member of the Duxbury Legion Post 223, and former director of the Plymouth Country Club. Mr. Garrigan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis (Lovell) Garrigan. He was the brother of Bernard B. Camden of Maine. Mr. Garrigan was laid to rest at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, with military honors, in Bourne. Arrangements by the Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston.
