John W Ford Jr. (Bubby) 91, passed away peacefully just after his 91st birthday with the love of his family and friends. John was born in Brockton MA, where he later became a champion long distance bicycle racer winning many races with record times that still hold up today. He later attended Wentworth Institute in Boston and became a teacher at Brookline High School for many years, working his way throught collage making shoes along side his father. He worked for Polaroid for many years as an inventor where he developed many of their cameras and other technologies that we use today. He and his wife Betty enjoyed both the mountains and the ocean spending summers on Cape Cod in Eastham and winters in The MT Washington Valley with many skiing adventures including Tuckermans Ravine. He served as a photographer in WWII documenting many important events in history. In his later years he became an avid rock and gem collector, and enjoyed spending time with his loving family, many friends and caregivers. He is predeceased by his wife Elizabeth H Ford (Betty). He is survived by his devoted daughter and son-in-law Susan Benton-Nichols and Arthur Nichols of Lovell, ME., Michael and Johanna Ford of Wellfleet, MA., John and Susan Ford of Gilford, NH, David and Maryanne Ford of Southbridge, MA., 5 Grand Children: Katherine Benton, John (Travis) Benton, Hanna Benton, Tyler Benton, Emma Benton all of Cape Cod, MA. His 3 step grandchildren Michelle Lovell of Cape Cod, Kelly Nichols and Arthur Chadwick of Fryeburg ME, and many great grandchildren and his devoted caregivers. A graveside service was held at Evergreen Cemetery Eastham MA., on Tuesday, May 14th at 11:30 am. In remembrance of John make a donation to
