Mildred (Midge) C. Spensley of Orleans, MA, born in New York City, New York, on November 16, 1921, passed away at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia, on April 13, 2013, after a short illness. She was a graduate of Francis Shimer College in Chicago, Illinois, and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York. She worked for Time/Life Magazine and Shell Oil Company in New York City, and transferred with Shell Oil to Houston, Texas, in 1968. She retired in 1982 and moved to Orleans to enjoy her later years by the beach. She loved the Cape and the friends she made there, but as time went on, she was required to move to Augusta to be closer to family. Her heart was never far from Cape Cod. She is survived by her son, Robert, of Augusta, Georgia, granddaughter Erin, of Athens, Georgia, grandson Brian (Nicole), and their son, of North Augusta, South Carolina, granddaughter Allison, and her two daughters, of Augusta, Georgia; granddaughter, Pamela (Mitch) Ciccarello, and their three sons, Bryan, Alex, and Max, of Cleveland, Ohio; and grandson, William, Jr., of Cleveland, Ohio. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Interment was held April 18, 2013, at Westover Memorial Park, in Augusta, Georgia. She is resting with her son, William, who preceded her on December 16, 2011.
