Charles B ruce Gordon Jr., 78, of North Attleboro, formerly of Franklin, Massachusetts died in his home on June 27, 2013. Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years Sally Ann (Weisensel) Gordon who left us on July 4, 2006. Born on July 2, 1934 in Chicago, IL, Charles was the son of the late Charles B. Gordon Sr. and Josephine (Muich) Gordon. Charles was raised in both the west and south sides of Chicago and attended Crane High School before graduating from Visitation High School. An avid runner, he was a state champion who set Chicago records in the 440 individual and the 4x600 relay. Charles was a subway alumni of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and was the answer to his wife's prayers at the Log Chapel. After his initial employment at Armour Foods in Chicago, Charles later worked at Durkee Spice Company before entering the trucking ndustry, working at companies including Cooper-Jarrett, Interstate Trucking, Jones Trucking and Franklin Warehouse. Charles was a Boy Scout leader, and later a member of the Franklin High School Gridiron Club. He excelled at fishing, gourmet cooking, reading, and crossword puzzles. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, sharing a special bond (and a secret handshake) with his grandchildren. He is survived by his eight children, Rev. Charles B. Gordon C.S.C. of Portland, Oregon, Adele Williamson and her husband Mark of North Attleboro, Terry Gordon and his wife Karen of Bellingham, Lynda Joseph and her husband Steve of Kettering Ohio, Robert Gordon of North Attleboro, Teresa Barnett and her husband Matthew of Bellingham, Matthew Gordon and his wife Angela of Franklin, and Cynthia Olson and her husband Glenn of North Attleboro. He is also survived by his two brothers, Robert "Butch" Gordon and his wife Karin, and Patrick Gordon and his wife Barbara of Illinois. He will be greatly missed by his much beloved grandchildren, Kenneth Williamson, Lauren Langlands, Michelle Carter, Bradford Williamson, Kyle and Patrick Gordon, Luke and Nicholas Gordon, Katherine, Matthew and R obert Joseph, Sarah Rizzo, Michae and Charlie Olson, Jessica and Julia Walls and his great grandchild Grace Adele Langlands. His funeral was held on Tuesday, July 2 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Marys Church at 10:00. Burial was in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Massachusetts Audubon Society, 208 South Great Rd.
