Obituary Condolences

Donald M. Bertone 71, of Franklin, died peacefully, at his home Saturday February 8, 2014. Born September 19, 1942 in Milford, a son of the late Arthur J. and Angela M. (Scricco) Bertone, he was a lifelong Franklin resident. He was raised and educated in Franklin, and then joined the National Guard. He worked for the Foxboro Company as an assembler for 40 years until his retirement. Following his retirement, he worked as a crossing guard in the town of Franklin at the Keller Sullivan Middle School on Lincoln Street. He enjoyed playing golf, and was a member of the Foxboro Company's golf league and their softball league. He also followed all the Boston sports teams, especially the Boston Red Sox and was an avid movie buff. Donald is survived by his brother Richard A. Bertone and his wife Patricia of Franklin, a niece, Anissa M. Battaglino and her husband Joseph of Ashland, a nephew Richard M. Bertone and his wife Deirdre of Weymouth. He was also the beloved great uncle of Elena, Ricky, Sammy and Brendan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Wednesday Feb. 12th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, Franklin at 10AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 6-8PM.
