Donald R. Douglas 78, of Franklin died suddenly August 21, in the University Massachusetts Medical Center. Born in Franklin, March 14, 1935, the son of the late William and Arlene (MacIvor) Douglas, Mr. Douglas was a lifelong Franklin resident. Mr. Douglas had worked as a clerk at the Foxboro Company for many years before retiring. He had served in the Massachusetts National Guard and was a longtime member of the Franklin Federated Church. He is survived by his brother Arthur J. Stobbart of Blackstone. He is also survived by his nephew Chris Stobbart of Franklin and Andrea Stobbart of Franklin. He is also survived by his cousins Robert MacIvor of Old Orchard Beach, Maine and Patsy MacIvor of Oregon. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday August 27 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 131 Main Street Franklin at 1:00p.m. Burial will be in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
