Devlin, John A. - Framingham  
John A. Devlin, age 92, of Framingham and formerly of Natick, died peacefully after a short illness on Saturday April 25, 2015. He was the son of the late John A. and Anastasia (Walsh) Devlin. After graduating from Natick High School, he attended the US Coast Guard Academy and graduated in 1945. He served in the Coast Guard during and after WWII. He worked as an engineer at Standard Thompson and subsequently became chief engineer and a principal at Cliflex Bellows Corp. He enjoyed traveling, auto racing, skiing, and gardening. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan. Predeceased by his former wife Madeline A. (Mason) Devlin and brother Francis P. Devlin, he is survived by his children Susan M. Santos, Michael J. Devlin and his wife Jori, Paul J. Devlin and his wife Carolyn Curtis. In addition, he is survived by his grandchildren Brian, Danielle, Christopher, Jennifer, Daniel, Nikolas, Maria, great-grandchildren Grayson and Rose, and former wife Patricia George and daughter Tracey Services will be held in June. Kannar, Iris M. - Framingham  
Iris M. (Edge) Kannar, age 90, of Natick, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Mary Ann Morse Nursing Home, Natick. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Kannar who died in 1994. Born in Dudley, England, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Kate (Robinson) Edge. She worked for 25 years as a housekeeper at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. She is survived by her daughters, Joyce M. Horne and her husband Joseph of Medway and Kathleen A. Murphy and her husband Benson B. of Framingham. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Victor Mansfield and his wife Elizabeth of Fitchburg and Laura Curtis and her husband Jonathan of PA; two great grandchildren, Taylor and Reilly Mansfield. She is also survived by her sister Joyce Edwards of Wolverhampton, England. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday, May 4, 2015 at 10 AM at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St, (Corner of Union Ave.) Framingham followed by her funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 251 Concord St. (Rt. 126), Framingham. Korpi, Bernard J. - Framingham  
Bernard J. Korpi, age 72, of Framingham, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at his home in Framingham. He was the loving husband of 49 years to Kerstin V. (Fasteson) Korpi of Framingham. Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Toimi Korpi and Lahja (Penttinen) Korpi-Morrison. Mr. Korpi, graduate of Boston University, served in the U.S. Air Force as a Staff Sergeant. He worked at several computer companies as a computer software engineer for over 35 years, including Digital Equipment Corporation for 20 years. Mr. Korpi was an avid music, film serial, and movie collector as well as a Beatles and Elvis Presley enthusiast. His many interests included genealogy, astronomy, reading, and walking on the beach. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Liisa Plante and her husband John of Uxbridge, Michael Korpi and his wife Shirley of Sherman Oaks, CA, and Erika Korpi and her boyfriend Matt Ginger of Framingham. He is also survived by his cherished granddaughter Faith Plante. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 from 1 -3 PM, followed by his funeral Service at 3 PM at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., (corner of Union Ave.) Framingham. Lizotte, Rose - Framingham  
Rose (Canali) Lizotte, age 91, of Framingham, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Oak Knoll Healthcare Center, Framingham. Born and raised in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Almerina (Cella) Canali. Rose worked as a waitress at local restaurants including the Wildwood in Marlborough and the former Union House in Framingham. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Brandolini and her husband Ronald of Framingham; three grandchildren, Sherri Decina and her husband Richard of Hopkinton, Ronald S. Brandolini of Framingham and Chris Brandolini and his wife Lisa of Silver Spring, MD. She was very fond of her great grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Decina, Maia, Alayna, Alyssa and Blake Brandolini. She is also survived by one sister Lena (Hall) Cody of Framingham, one niece Linda Moroney and her husband Thomas of Hopkinton and their children Tom and Kevin. Mather, Carol L.  
Carol L. Mather passed on April 1, 2015 after a short hospitalization at Yale-New Haven Hospital - Saint Raphael Campus in New Haven, CT. She was born on October 29, 1947. Carol lived most of her life in Massachusetts, moving here from Connecticut as a teen. Carol was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Mather. She leaves behind her niece, Kim Mather, and Kim's children Tyler and Santana, her nephew Derek Mather, her aunt Sally Prestele and her cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her brother Richard Mather. Carol graduated high school from St. Anne's High School in Arlington, MA in 1967. She worked for many years at Sun Life Financial Group in Wellesley, MA. She had a great love for music and was gifted with a beautiful voice. She also loved animals and was a member of The Humane Society of the United States. A private graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Mountain View Cemetery in Canaan, CT. Silva, Ida - Framingham  
Ida (Saporetti) Silva passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 at St. Patricks Manor Nursing Home, Framingham. Born in Cohoes, NY, she was the daughter of the late Primo and Valghira (Petrini) Saporetti. She was the wife of the late John Silva who died in 1989. Mrs. Silva worked at the former Bancroft Cap Co. Ida is survived by her two sons, John P. Silva and his wife Cynthia of Franklin and Anthony J. Tony Silva and his wife Susan of Bellingham; five grandchildren, Christopher, Anthony, Nicholas, Emily and Michael Silva. She is also survived by her three great grandchildren, Filip, Vincenzo and Isabelle. She was the sister of the late Albo Saporetti and his wife Bianca, Richard Saporetti and his wife Georgina and Ribello Saporetti and his wife Mary. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 10 AM in St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverley Street, Framingham. Sister Lorraine Hinrichsen, CSJ (Sister Marie Gerard), in her 60th year as a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Devoted daughter of the late Russell G. and Lillian (Karpowicz) Hinrichsen and loving sister of the late Lois Mary Hinrichsen. Survived by her devoted cousins, her many loving friends, and her Sisters in the Congregation. Formerly missioned as a teacher at St. Anthony School, Allston; Sacred Heart School, Weymouth; Holy Name School, West Roxbury; St. William School, Dorchester; and St. Mary School, Winchester. Sister Lorraine also served as Principal at St. Columbkille School, Brighton; St. Pius School, Lynn. Sister was the Executive Assistant for the City of Boston Department of Social Services and a Consultant at J. Gould Advisory Counsel in Beverly. Falconer, Rita L. - Framingham  
Rita L. (Mitchell) Falconer, 88 and a longtime resident of Framingham, died Friday, April 17, at The Highlands in Fitchburg after a short illness. She was born in Boston, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Kendrick) Mitchell, and grew up in Dorchester. She graduated from Girls High in Boston and married Raymond H. Falconer in 1949. They lived in Watertown and Marlboro before moving to Framingham in 1966 where she lived until moving to Leominster last July. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 2011 and her sister Alice J. Mitchell in 1969. She leaves a daughter, Cynthia, and her husband David of Petersham; a son, James and his wife Mary Ann of Westminster; her granddaughters Meagan Hawkins and her husband Matthew of Gardner, Katelyn Lincoln and her husband James of Lexington, KY, Emily Falconer and Allison Falconer of Westminster; her step-granddaughters Abbie Clark of Fitchburg and Wynne Clark of Orange; her great-grandchildren Charlie and Claire Hawkins, Page Lincoln and Rowan Gray; and several nieces and nephews. In her early years, Rita worked in the library at Harvard University and for Chandler and Farquhar in Boston. After moving to Framingham she continued working, in transportation and in retail, until her retirement. Rita loved to shop | her favorite store was the Christmas Tree Shop. Her house was always decorated for each holiday and season. She loved knitting, doing crafts and baking but most of all she loved her family. Rita enjoyed traveling with her husband on several bus trips and cruises but her favorite times were the summer vacations spent with her granddaughters at Swifts Beach in Wareham, MA. She was generous and outgoing and was everyones Auntie Rita. A funeral service held Wednesday, April 22nd at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Ashland with burial at Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. One calling hour held Wednesday, April 22nd, from 10:00 - 11:00 am prior to the service. Hopkins, Alan P. - Framingham  
Alan Parker Hopkins, age 80, of Framingham, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 after fighting a long battle with alzheimers at the Metrowest Medical Center, Natick. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Cole) Hopkins, of Westborough who would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary this June. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Ernest Parker and Marjorie (Wilcox) Hopkins. During the Korean conflict he served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Hopkins is a graduate of Northeastern University where he earned his BA in Engineering. He was a member of the Lodge of Elks in California, a member of the Alzheimers Association, an avid antique dealer, golfer and a beloved husband, daddy and papa. Besides his wife Shirley, he is survived by his loving daughters, Cheryl Robinson and her husband Leif of Hopkinton, Diane Heller of Framingham and Lauren Hopkins-Olmos-Kelley and her husband Brian of Framingham. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicole Nye of Clinton and her wife Shannon, Brittany Heller of Natick and Dillon Olmos of Framingham; a great-granddaughter Ryleigh Nye of Clinton and his sister Sandy Carpenter of Indiana. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday, April 22, from 4 | 6 PM at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St., (Corner of Union Ave.) Framingham, followed by a funeral service at 6 PM at the funeral home.
