Sergei, Gertrude - Dedham  
Gertrude (Davis) Sergei, age 92, died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Dedham. She was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Gardiner) Davis. Gert was born on November 14, 1922 in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was employed as a meat packer for Armour Star for several years. She and her late husband Michael were married on August 22, 1948 at Our Lady of Ostro Brama Church in Boston. Gert enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles and jig saw puzzles. She loved to crochet, garden and dance. Most of all Gert enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Loving mother of Michael and his wife Linda Sergei of FL, Richard and his wife Maureen Sergei of Foxborough and Kathleen and her husband Arthur Dunn of S. Weymouth. Beloved grandmother of Brian, Daniel, Noel, Patrick and Christopher. Devoted great grandmother of Emma & Caitlyn. Sister of the late James Davis, Sonny Davis, Loretta Minyard, Clara Murdock, Violet Stark and Josephine Gillis. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, January 31 from 1 to 3 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street Foxborough. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM at the conclusion of calling hours. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471. Starrs, Richard J.  
Richard James Starrs, 73 of Hanover, formerly a resident of New Jersey for 50 years, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2014. Richard was born in Newport, R.I. on Nov. 21, 1941. He was the son of the late James T. and Ingeborg (Ilmonen) Starrs. Richard proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was later employed as a Tool and Dye maker. He was a member of the Hanover American Legion, Post #149 and the NRA. Richard was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, loved target shooting, and he loved his friends and family. Richard was the brother of Virginia A. Blake and her husband Thomas of Wareham. Uncle of Thomas Blake of Marshfield, Kelley Webster of Pembroke, Colleen Jones of Hanover, James Blake of Wareham, and Kaitlyn Mahoney of Haverhill. Also survived by his 10 great-nephews and his companion, his cat, Blossom. All services will be private.
