Kathleen T. Burgess

Kathleen T. (Torrance) of Hanover and South Weymouth, formerly of Camp Hill, PA, passed away, peacefully, in the arms of her loving husband of 40 years, Christopher, July 6, 2012. Kathleen loved walking in the various nature preserves on the South Shore, Broadway plays, was a regular at the Summer and Christmas Boston Pops, a wine connoisseur, a fan of the Red Sox, Patriots, and Breakfast at Wimbledon. However, most of all, Kathleen loved her family. They meant the world to her. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Kathleen grew up in Braintree and South Weymouth, went to grade school at St. Thomas More, high school at Archbishop Williams, graduated from Newton College of the Sacred Heart, in Newton. In conjunction with raising two children she worked as an insurance underwriter for five years, while the family was in Michigan, and for the over 20 years in the banking industry, while the family was living in Pennsylvania. She was the youngest daughter of the late Walter L. and Margaret J. (Lowe) Torrance; the beloved wife of Christopher N. Burgess. Loving mother of Major J. Torrance,USA and his wife Kathleen of Fairfax Station, VA, and Margaret S. Kuppens and her husband Christopher of Wareham, MA. Sister of Donna L. Torrance, of Bloomfield Hills, MI. Loving grandmother (Mimsie) to Dacey, Quinn, and Reagan Burgess and Chase and Hadley Kuppens. At the familys request, there will no visiting hours. Instead, the familys wish is to invite everyone to celebrate Kathleens life with a Mass of the Resurrection Thursday, July 12, 2012 at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, Hanover at 10 a.m. Donations in Kathleens name may be made to Massachusetts General Hospital, Madame Ovary Fund at www.madameovary.org/.
