Alice M. (Sides) Shaw, 95, of Hanover died May 28, 2014, at the Royal of Norwell Nursing Center. She was born in Hanover, daughter of the late Arthur W. and Hattie O. (Bradford) Sides. She graduated from Hanover High School in 1936. Alice was a registered nurse having received her training at the Faulkner Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at the Faulkner after her graduation and later was employed at Brockton Hospital for over 25 years. A longtime active member of the First Baptist Church of Hanover, she was a member of the Willing Workers of the church. She was predeceased by her sons, Otis B. Shaw Jr. and Jeffrey L. Shaw, her former husband, Otis B. Shaw Sr., and 7 siblings. Survived by 4 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including Curtis S. Litchfield and his wife Dorothy of Havelock, N.C., and Marshall B. Litchfield of Scituate; her sister, Lois Lees of N.J.; and her sisters-in-law, Mary and Norma Sides, both of Hanover. Graveside services for Alice were held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, in the Hanover Center Cemetery.
