Douglas Steven Chetwynde, 73, of Hanover, passed away peacefully at home, July 11, 2013. He was born in Weymouth and lived from the coast of California to the shores of Scituate but spent most of his life in Hanover. He served in the Marine Corps and was a welder, most recently at GTE in Needham. His happiest times were Sunday mornings at his home with his wife, children and grandchildren, with coffee and donuts on the table. Doug also loved spending time at Duxbury harbor, in his garage workshop and with his cat Oreo. He is survived by his loving wife June Chetwynde (Anderson) of Hanover and his four children; his son Steven Chetwynde and his wife Denise of Hanover; his three daughters, Suzanne LoSciuto and her husband Steve of Kingston, Sondra Chandler and her husband Peter of Westwood and Sara Chetwynde and her fianc Brent Johnson of Hanover. Doug leaves behind seven grandchildren, Michael and his wife Kristy, Kaitlyn and husband Dan, Kylie, Nikki, Sydney, Brooke, Luke Douglas and one great-grandson, Nicholas. He is also survived by his sister Connie Sargent of Halifax and several nieces and nephews. He was a son of the late Harry and Mildred Chetwynde. Doug and his sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family. Visiting hours were at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte. 53 in Hanover on Tuesday, July 16 from 5 p.m.| 8 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Dougs love of Hanover, his family suggests a donation to the Hanover Fire or Police Department, or to The Standish Humane Society of Duxbury.
