John J. King Obituary
John J. King, 81, of Hanover died at the Southwood at Norwell Nursing Facility April 20, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was born in Galway, Ireland, son of Patrick and Mary (Wall) King and came to the United States in 1954. Mr. King lived in Boston before moving to Hanover in 1965. John was employed at TRW Automotive as a machinist for many years before his retirement. He was a member of Fr. Tom Burkes Hurling Club of Boston, was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and took great delight in gardening. Husband of the late Mary E. (Barron) Arlin King, he is survived by his children, Richard Arlin and his wife Lisa of Hanson, Rhonda Bethoney and her husband Tom of Hanover and Kevin King and his wife Susan of Bridgewater. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Tommy Bethoney Jr. Brianna Bethoney, Zachary Bethoney, Chrissy Arlin, Michael Arlin, Shannon Arlin, Cameron King and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Patrick King, Una Brennan, Nellie Carter and Matthew King, all of Ireland; and the brother-in-law of Mary and Margaret King. He was preceeded in death by his brothers, Stephen, Thomas and Michael King, and his sister, Sr. Jacinta King. A celebration of his life was held Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral Mass was held Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 9 a.m. in St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St., in Hanover.
