Visiting hours for Louis Pells will be held from 11a-12:30p on Monday, June 27th at Nickerson Funeral Home, 87 Crowell Road, Chatham. A funeral service will follow the visiting hours, beginning at 12:15p in the funeral home, followed by burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

Pounder, Isabel C. - Brewster  
Isabel C. Pounder, 94, of Needham, MA and formerly of West Harwich, MA passed away on Tuesday May 31, 2016 at Beth Israel Deaconess (Glover) Hospital in Needham surrounded by family. She was the wife of 41 years of the late Lt. Col. William F. Pounder who died in 1988. She and her husband lived in Wellesley, MA for 25 years while raising their 2 daughters, then in West Harwich for 45 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born in Jamaica, Long Island, New York, Isabel was a 1930 graduate of Jamaica High School. She went to Katherine Gibbs School for Girls in NYC and got certified as an executive secretary and administrative assistant. During WWII she worked in the Quartermaster Generals office in Washington DC under General Georges Doriot in the Research and Development Division where she met and married her husband. During her years in Wellesley she managed the familys large property holdings of rental units in Wellesley and surrounding towns along with working at Wellesley College for 4 years. During her years in West Harwich, she lead in the management of Seascapes Village Condo complex where she lived and which her husband and his partner had built. Her first love was family. While raising her two daughters she was very active in their lives and activities, and she remained very close to them and to her six grandchildren throughout her life. Her greatest passion was music. She was a member of the Wellesley Choral Society for 30 years, serving as President for 6 years. During her 45 years at the Cape she was active in several choral societies including the Mid Cape Chorus, Choraliers, Chatham Music Club, and the Pilgrim Congregational Church Choir. She had a beautiful singing voice and loved participating in the many concerts and shows put on by these choral societies. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Ellen Penny Pounder and her husband Dr. Niels Rathlev of Wellesley, and Paula Pounder Wharton and her husband Dana Wharton of Hopkinton, MA, and six grandchildren and one great-grandson, Jeffrey Wharton and his wife Sarah McCormack Wharton and their son Caleb, Eric Wharton, Mark Wharton, Anders Rathlev, Karsten Rathlev, and Isabel (Bella) Rathlev. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday June 25 at 1:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 309 Washington Street, Wellesley Hills, MA. Flowers can be sent directly to Unitarian Universalist Church on June 25. A Reception will be held following the ceremony at 10 Crown Ridge Road in Wellesley.
