Gene Munn

On a beautiful Cape Cod evening Gene Munn, 93 passed away with dignity surrounded by his crackling fireplace, red roses on the mantel, classical music on his radio and his beloved daughter by his side. He was predeceased by Marjorie Edith Munn and Nancy Baker DeYoung. Gene was born on March 1, 1920, in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Harvard University and was a graduate of the Gemological Institute of America. Gene was a member of the American Gem Society and the Brotherhood of Traveling Jewelers. Gene was proud to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1941-1947. He was attach to Coast Guard Delegate at the American Embassy, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from 1943-1944. Gene is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Munn Rowley; grandson, Brewster Westgate Rowley; and many friends and family members. A memorial service was held on Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. at Saint Christopher's Church on Main Street, Chatham. Gifts in Gene's memory may be given to St. Christopher's Church. "A true gentleman."
