Michael H. Cole, 66, of N. Eastham, MA died on April 9, 2013, after a sudden and very brief illness. He was born on Feb. 21, 1947, in West Hartford and was the son of Everett H. & Jean H. Cole. Michael attended Cornell University and graduated in 1970 with a Masters Degree in Engineering. He joined Cape Associates in 1972 and became President in 1985 after taking over from his father-in-law, Lester F. Langhans, Jr. He retired on January 1, 2013, after selling the business to his three children. Michael was very active in various local committees and the Eastham United Methodist Church over the years. The betterment of his community was very important to him. He was not only a respected businessman, but he took great pride in mentoring employees. One of Cape Associates annual awards, The Michael H. Cole Mentor Award was presented to him and named after him at the election of his fellow employees. But as important as all the above were to him, he was most proud to be the parent of his three children and a devoted husband to his beloved wife. Nothing could ever surpass the love, concern and devotion he had to his wife and children. He always reported that he was the luckiest man in the whole world. He is survived by his wife Jeanne (Langhans), his children Lindsay Cole, Matthew Cole, (and wife Katie), and Casey Cole (and her fiance, Ashley), his grandchildren Olivia Rose Richards and Hudson Foy Cole, by his sister Linda Orlowski of Colebrook, CT, his brother David Cole of Unionville, CT, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Cole. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael H. Cole Charitable Giving Foundation, P.O. Box 1858, N. Eastham, MA 02651.
