Harriet Eaton Wicke, of Bloomfield and East Orleans MA, formerly of West Hartford, wife of the late Gilbert A. Wicke, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, (June 18, 2013) at the age of 91. Born November 7, 1921, to the late Julia Allen and William Spalding Eaton, in Philadelphia, she moved to Hartford as a young child and was a graduate of the Oxford School and Wellesley College 43. She worked for General Electric in Bridgeport and LIMRA in Hartford prior to her marriage to Gil in 1955 and subsequently raised their family in West Hartford, where she continued to live until 2010. She will be dearly missed by her son, Donald K. Wicke and his wife Alice Marshall-Wicke of Portland CT, daughter, Nancy K. Hinman and her husband Douglas E. Hinman of Warren RI, her sister, Lucy E. Holcombe of North Granby, CT as well as her four grandchildren, Daniel Wicke, Kevin Wicke, Edward Hinman and Amelia Hinman. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her beloved son, Austin D. Wicke. Harriet, described by many a friend, as a remarkable woman, cherished her summers at Nauset Heights on Cape Cod.
