Skip Warren, 58, of Boston, Cape Cod, and Palm Springs, died Sunday, July 14th after a year-long battle with Lymphoma. Skip was born in Des Moines, Iowa on November 7, 1954 to the late Kathryn and Cletus Warren and was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky. He is survived by his daughters Lucy Warren-Whitman and Sarah Cohen, son-in-law Mark Cohen, grandson Jacob, other family members, and loads of dearly loved friends in Boston, on the Cape, and in Palm Springs, CA. Skip began his career in Boston performing with Boston Ballet and went on to perform with The Atlanta Ballet and as a guest artist throughout New England. He co-founded North Atlantic Ballet in Boston and DanceArts on Cape Cod. His choreography credits include work with the Bolshoi Ballet, Opera Company of Boston, and years of directing North Atlantic Ballet and DanceArts productions - classics such as Midsummer Nights Dream, Cinderella, and Nutcracker, as well as completely original works he created. Over 30 years, Skip trained dancers who have gone on to professional careers at major companies, as well as inspired many more dancers, actors, students, and artists. An open celebration of Skips life will be held on Saturday, October 12th at 3:00 p.m. at First Parish Brewster on Cape Cod (firstparishbrewster.org). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to North Atlantic Ballet (northatlanticballet.com).
